I have personally been working with Chuck for well over a year now, and he is a genius as his craft. There are some mics where a winding may be broken or some other part that is just not fixable, and he will let you know that. Otherwise, Chuck can get you more output and tone from an almost really good mic if possible. He has brought back some from the dead for me, and is very reasonable in his pricing for the amount of time he spends on these. The element comes back with fresh leads ready to solder on. I literally have owned thousands of CR/CM mics, and have gotten to respect someone for being able to help some out that otherwise would have just been in the trash. Just tell him Sonny sent you. And just to lay something to rest that has been a myth for so long, the ohms reading of the mic means nothing. Just because it may read 1.28K doesn't mean it will have full output and bottom end. There are a ton of factors that could be interfering with this being a good, strong bottom end mic. I have some super hot ones at 1.05K, so who knows. Chuck will be honest with you. |
